1st Annual Sam Chuenchit – NCSC Benefit Golf Tournament
The idea for this benefit golf tournament was conceived by a group of friends and family after Sam’s death, in January of 2008. Our community lost a valuable coach, friend, father and husband. Please plan to join us on August 8, 2008 at Highland Hills Golf Course in Greeley to raise funds for the Sam Chuenchit Memorial Soccer Scholarship. To be awarded annually to one male and female soccer player.
We don’t get to choose how we’re going to die . . . or when. We can only decide how we are going to live. Sam chose to live by doing what he wanted to do: SOCCER. Sam kicked it every day. Sam spent nearly 30 years coaching for the Northern Colorado Soccer Club, Greeley Central, Greeley West, and most recently Northridge H.S. It was as if the game itself had an inner voice that said this is the “real” game. The one game that made Sam feel most alive. To Sam, soccer was something you wanted to do, something that you just got together and just did for the fun of it . . . Soccer is said to be the universal sport. With Sam that was the case, he had no boundaries. All he wanted was for kids to play the sport no matter your age, your school, your gender, your ability . . . If you had a desire to play soccer, Sam was there for you… just come to play.
It’s a fun day, and it’s for a great cause. If you can’t join us would you please consider helping us with a corporate sponsor, hole sponsor, or donation of raffle prize.
